Are there any nibs … Are there any nibs that are similar to the one you have but cheaper?

$300 for a nib is quite pricey. And do you know some good pens that write very nicely somewhere between $50-$100

  2. Dkooler1

those pens cost so … those pens cost so much

  3. Bubue13

lol, the hair looks … lol, the hair looks like elvis. nice fountai pen by the way

i agree that mb … i agree that mb pens are overpriced. but aren t all luxury products? these are called luxury products because you pay for the name. as to the quality of the pen… i insist that these pen look better than they write. it is difficult nowadays to get a mont blanc pen that works flawlessy (i m talking about skipping and poor starts on the left…. and flooding when you have the feed widened on the right).

because when only … because when only the money you have in your bank, without being properly invested, yield you 600 usd daily, you don t care if the pen costs 600 or 2 bucks. also, 600 isn t as much as 20k or 50k. and you can ebay up pens that cost this much. any other smart questions?

LOL @ the lines … LOL @ the lines looking like the Nile. To be honest, the Montblanc I have either flows too much or too little, depending on ink of course. I use Noodler’s Black and that is somewhat smooth, American Eel black is like writing with a dry pen, but with Private reserve, aurora, and pelikan, the pen feels much smoother. Again, beautiful pen, but not the best in quality (but far from poor in quality).

    @TonyDent84
    Amen … @TonyDent84
Amen on the Pilot! I have a lot of different fountain pens and have used many top of the line brands….. still I prefer Pilot pens…. even their $10-$30 pens write like a friggin dream. Also they tend to have the most tasteful designs.

Why would anyone … Why would anyone spend over $600 on a pen?

  10. berrylict

Tony, glad the 149 … Tony, glad the 149 works for you. The pen has a beautiful nib I must say. But when I used it posted, the balance shifted somewhere miles above the edge of my palm and it was uncomfortable to write with it. Unposted it was a lot better, but the “might” disappeared. And then again the less than perfect performance. Perhaps I should ve tried a different ink. From MB I only kept my UNICEF 145 fp, Starwalker rubber rb and a 146 bp. Glad to hear you re happy with your 149 though.

I ended up with … I ended up with Meisterstuck 145. It s somewhat tiny (I personally prefer Le Grand size), but among all those mediocre nibs Mont Blanc now plagues their boutiques with, this one had excellent ink flow without the lines looking like the Nile. I will never ever buy another MB pen without having it thoroughly tested before the purchase :) Not that it would matter, but I am not alone in horrible experience with MB. Btw. I had 149 but got rid of it cause of occasional skips and slow starts.

I agree, Montblanc … I agree, Montblanc is a bit overpriced, but I love my Meisterstuck 149 too dearly to depart with it. But I think the best quality pnes are Pilot pens…they write so softly and smoothly, and the company is very innovative…Duke pens used to be my fave when I first got into fountain pens, but now its a tie between Montblanc, Pilot, and Pelikan

whats the name of … whats the name of this classic song or sound?

  14. RetroJoystick

where can i buy … where can i buy this pen?

  15. noahtogg

I think that Mont … I think that Mont Blancs are very overvalued and that if you want a nice pen you would do far better with a mentmore Duke which only costs £50….and no Im not just saying this because I can’t afford them, I’ve got one and regreted buying it ever since

If its not true, sry but, I had in other country and wasnt read this place, but that article seems to be copyed from another blogare you copycatblogs?

  27. Hobert Esparza

I quite prefer what you submit in this article. Rather insightful and intelligent. One challenge though. I’m running Internet explorer with Debian and parts of your current web design pieces are a little wonky. I realize it’s not a usual set up. Yet still it’s an issue to retain in view. I trust that it can help and always keep in the main quality writing.
